Legal Insights & Q&A

Key Legal Questions & Insights

Concise answers to key regulatory and transactional questions in Jordan.

Jordan is a signatory to the 1958 New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards, as well as the Riyadh Arab Convention. Foreign arbitral awards are enforced by petitioning the Court of Appeal for recognition. Once granted exequatur, the award is executed directly through the Execution Court just like a domestic court judgment, with strictly limited grounds for refusal based on public policy or due process.
